Imagify: the tool that compresses your visuals

Our Tools - April 16, 2019

At the beginning of January, we shared with you our tips to improve the SEO and speed of your site by optimizing your images. This week, we wanted to share with you a tool that will help you in this step and that we use regularly at Studio Cassette: Imagify.

What is Imagify?

This is a service that compresses the images on your site to improve its performance and page loading speed.

Imagify has two services: the online service, the plugin.

But what are the differences between the two?
The first difference is quite logical, one of the services allows the automation of compression (the plugin) and the other does not.

The online service :

The online service is very intuitive and easy to use. All you have to do is create an account (free or premium), it mainly depends on your needs. Imagify : the tool that compresses your visuals 1
Once it's done, compression is done in just a few clicks. You choose a compression mode and then drag the image(s) concerned.

The compression is launched and all you have to do is download your visuals by clicking on the download button (for small quantities) or download all optimized files, which will gather them in a zip file.
If you have a lot of visuals, the task can nevertheless be daunting and time-consuming.

The plugin :

It is a tool that allows you to compress the images of your site directly online. The plugin installs on Wordpress and lightens the weight of the images contained in your library.
This plugin is really useful because we often think that resizing our images is enough to lighten their weight but in reality this is wrong.

The extension allows you to compress images on the fly, i.e. as soon as they are put online. This is a significant time saver because depending on the number of visuals you need to put online, you don't have to carry out the boring steps we were talking about above.

The cost :

When you install Imagify on Wordpress, you have a free account that gives you 25MB per month. If the site does not contain a large number of visuals and the article publication is punctual, this is more than enough.

You can also opt for a "One Time" plan that allows you to pay in one go, a pack that processes a large number of images or switch to a monthly plan.
You are therefore free to choose your formula depending on the use of your WordPress site or blog.

In conclusion , Imagify offers you an offer tailored to your needs, in the form of an online service or plugin. Both are very easy to use, efficient and all at an advantageous cost. What are you waiting for to test it?
