When we began our journey towards a better consideration of our impact on the environment, one of the first steps was to calculate our carbon footprint. Once our footprint was calculated and our result was in our pocket, our desire was to find a way to reduce this number or at least be able to offset it in some way, in order to move from a harmful footprint to a positive impact.
After some research, we discovered Reforest Action .
This site allows everyone, companies or individuals, to act in favor of reforestation in France and around the world. It also offers the possibility to calculate your footprint.
The principle is simple, you enter the figure of your carbon footprint and it gives you the number of trees you need to plant in order to offset your impact in a positive way.
How does it work?
On the site's home page, a map of the world presents the various reforestation projects. Nothing could be simpler, you just have to click on a location to discover the project and decide whether or not to position yourself on it.
At Studio Cassette we had to offset 11 tons of CO2, the equivalent of 72 trees. The process is extremely simple and fast. With just a few clicks, we were able to choose where in the world we wanted to plant our trees and our footprint of the year was immediately offset.
So we planted 72 trees in the forest of Croix de Bor.
Reforest Action then issues you with a certificate attesting to the profits generated.
At Studio Cassette we have offset our carbon emissions, but Reforest Action also offers to associate your products or services with a tree, to green your premises or to invite your stakeholders to act for the environment.
